"The best things in life are free But you can give them to the birds and bees
I need money (That's what I want)"
With all due respect Barrett Strong and his 1959 hit R&B single, we will be giving free bits of our software not just to the birds and bees, but to anybody shipping things around the globe.
Sales and marketing experts have advised us that, under no circumstances, should we just let parts of our software offering exist on our website for free and easy usage. Their logic made sense, but it didn't resonate with our mission. We believe that companies have a responsibility to act for the betterment of those around them. We believe in the democracy of information. We believe in karma - the world will help us if we help it.
And while it is great for all companies to have these kinds of beliefs, our industry is the ideal place to lead with that charge. Supply chain management has such a pervasive impact on all parts of society, and that often goes overlooked. Furthermore, the data and information that gets gathered on this impact can often be messy and unclear. It's time to provide clarity and insight on this impact to unlock a world of improvement.
So, starting next week, we will release freebies once a month. Our first being a carbon emissions calculator that provides transparency around how much CO2 comes from transporting via different methods and to different locations. Check back here, or follow us on LinkedIn, for more updates along the way.
